Job Description

A MEDIA PRODUCTION COMPANY is looking for a CREATIVE Producer for a Hausa
Radio Drama.
CRITERIA
Eligible candidates must be able to speak and write Hausa fluently and also have a
good understanding and command of cultural norms and forms. Candidate should have
a background in literary studies, drama and theatre arts gives an edge.
*Qualifications
A) Education/Training

 BA/ Degree in Journalism, or Language or theatrical art or communication and
related discipline.


B) Experience:

 6 years of experience in the production of youth-focused or family focused or
other social content related radio programmes and good experience in radio
journalism.


C) Technical And Other Skills

 Acquainting himself/herself with a wide range of issues such as current events,
health issues, education, public policies and harmful traditional practices including
code of ethics of Journalism
 Responsible for idea generation and story development.
 Work in a group with colleagues in a team-oriented environment.

*Responsibilities:

 Oversee the production of episodes for the radio serial drama, to the
satisfaction of the Production Management Committee.
 Oversee the entire process of the production of the serial drama.
 Oversee the Preparation of the script schedule and time line
 Ensure the timely and comprehensive production plan and schedule
are available and on time.
 Ensure the character matrix is ready and available on time to the
Production Management Committee.
 Work with the writers to develop plots/ideas for the serial/production
 Attend/lead story line programming session with the scriptwriting team.
 Submit episodes summaries to Production Management Committee
through the Program Manager.
 Attend Production Management Committee meetings.
 Oversee the Collection of scripts from the scriptwriting team according
to a pre- determined timeline.
 Determine what voice actors are necessary for each recording session
prior to the allocated recording session.

 Advice voice actors according.
 Attend all recording session to work with the voice actors (talents) to
rehearse episodes before recording in the studio.
 Approve payment clearance for writers and voice actors(talents)
 Assist the studio technicians to produce the episodes (add sound
effects, music, etc).
 Ability to write and communicate in a Hausa language is an added
advantage.
 Other duties as maybe determined necessary by the production
Management Committee for successful completion of the production.
