Job Description

Job Summary:
• As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the kitchen team in various food preparation and cleaning tasks. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen by assisting chefs and cooks in preparing ingredients, maintaining cleanliness and organization, and adhering to food safety standards. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
• Assist chefs and cooks in preparing ingredients for cooking, such as chopping vegetables, portioning meats, and measuring ingredients.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and taking out trash regularly.
• Assist in food preparation tasks, including peeling, cutting, and marinating ingredients as directed by the kitchen staff.
• Stock and replenish kitchen supplies and ingredients, ensuring that items are readily available for use.
• Follow proper food handling procedures and safety protocols to prevent contamination and ensure food safety.
• Help with basic cooking tasks, such as assembling sandwiches, salads, and appetizers, under the supervision of senior kitchen staff.
• Collaborate with kitchen team members to maintain a positive and efficient working environment.
• Handle kitchen equipment and utensils with care, ensuring they are cleaned and stored properly after use.
• Assist in receiving and storing deliveries of food and supplies, checking for quality and accuracy.
• Perform other duties as assigned by kitchen management to support the overall operation of the kitchen.

Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• 1 year or Previous experience working in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of basic food preparation techniques and kitchen safety procedures.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and willingness to take direction from kitchen supervisors.
• Physical stamina and dexterity to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow in the role.
Salary:
70.000,00 NGN Monthly
