Job Description

SwiftConsulting is a firm that consults in education, human resources and office management as well as conducts trainings, is currently recruiting for a qualified candidate to fill the role of an Accountant for our client in the Agric sector.

Location: Imo state

Renumeration: 150,000

*JOB SUMMARY:*

The accountant will be responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing financial statements, analyzing data, and ensuring compliance with local tax laws and regulations.

*KEY RESPONSIBILITIES* :

- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.

-Conduct regular financial analysis, monitor variances, and report on financial performance to management.

-Ensure compliance with Nigerian accounting standards and tax regulations.
Prepare and submit tax returns, including VAT, PAYE, and other relevant taxes, within the specified deadlines.
Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, and monitor budgetary performance.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency.

-Support external audits and ensure timely and accurate provision of requested information.
Participate in the development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.

-Stay updated with changes in accounting regulations and industry best practices.

*QUALIFICATIONS* :

-Bachelor's degree in Accounting.

-Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, ICAN, or similar is preferred.

- 3 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or financial services setting.
- Solid knowledge of Nigerian accounting standards and tax regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Integrity and adherence to ethical accounting
practices.
