Cashier

Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Cashier with a background in accounting to join our team. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for processing transactions accurately and efficiently while maintaining a high level of customer service. Your accounting background will enable you to reconcile cash transactions, manage petty cash, and contribute to financial reporting tasks.

Responsibilities:
- Process customer transactions, including cash, credit/debit cards, and electronic payments, accurately and efficiently
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering inquiries, and resolving issues or concerns
- Maintain accurate cash drawer balances and reconcile transactions at the end of each shift
- Prepare and maintain financial reports, including daily sales summaries and cash reconciliation reports
- Manage petty cash fund and process reimbursements for approved expenses
- Assist with inventory management tasks, such as tracking stock levels and recording sales
- Collaborate with the accounting department to ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions
- Follow company policies and procedures regarding cash handling, refunds, and exchanges
- Monitor and report any discrepancies or irregularities in cash transactions to management
- Keep the cashier area clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies
- Assist with other accounting tasks and projects as needed

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- Proven experience as a Cashier or in a similar role, preferably with a background in accounting
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office applications, including Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
- Knowledge of cash handling procedures and accounting principles
- Flexibility to work evenings.
