Job Description
The Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Coordinator will be responsible for keeping abreast of emerging developments in the use of ICT in education, specifically in the Nursery and Primary School (Pre-school, KS-1 & KS-2). In addition, he/she will be required to formulate plans for the Academy to allocate the necessary ICT resources effectively to support the Academy’s strategy, operations, programs, and projects.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Curriculum
Implement the Academy’s Nursery and Primary Schools Computer Policy and review it on a regular basis in conjunction with the Curriculum Coordinator.
Assist in the infusion of technology across the curriculum.
Provide sound leadership and management of the Academy’s plan to integrate learning technologies across the curriculum.
Teach computer studies and team-teach in computer related lessons to demonstrate software and its uses in the Nursery and Primary Curriculum.
Provide technical assistance among peers, learners, and school heads with regard to the positive use of ICT in teaching, learning, and governance.
Working With Other Staff
Collaborate with the Nursery and Primary School Head and the Curriculum Coordinator to plan and implement strategies and the direction of computing at the Academy.
Liaise with the Academy’s IT Consultant and other technical service providers to plan the implementation of hardware, software, and other related services to meet the various needs of the Academy.
Assist teachers in the use of computers for teaching and administrative purposes.
Coordinate professional development, in-school training and mentorship for all staff to enhance their skills in the use of the computer.
Provide assistance and/or facilitate in the early accomplishment of different ICT-related departmental programs across the Academy.
Resource Management
Conduct preventive maintenance of the Academy’s E-Classroom/Computer Laboratory ICT equipment and be in-charge of other ICT-related programs and projects.
Maintain ICT equipment inventory after the closing and before the opening of classes for each term.
Coordinate with the Academy’s Admin Officer/Manager in managing inventory of all the ICT equipment and resources.
Data Management of the Academy’s various Information Systems
Review new software and maintain the current software resources.
Ensure proper utilization and maintenance of E-classroom including ICT equipment such as laptop, projectors, and speakers amongst others.
Report problems and concerns about ICT packages in the Academy to the supplier and the Head of School.
Assist in the preparation of School Improvement Plan or Annual Implementation Plan.
Maintain the Academy’s digital library account (username and password) and mentor the Academy’s librarian on digital online encoding
Maintain access to the Academy’s digital teaching and learning resources.
Administrative/General
Coordinate with Academy’s administration and management on the monitoring and evaluation of ICT programs and projects to ensure effective feedback and collaboration
Prepare annual technology budgets and oversee expenditure.
Identify and communicate current trends in technology and make current hardware and software recommendations to support the Academy’s mission.
Formulate plans for the Academy to allocate the necessary ICT resources effectively to support the Academy’s strategy, operations, programs, and projects.
Provide advisory on education technology, and provide reports to the Academy’s Board as required.
Maintain records of all ICT licensing, and agreements along with establishing new ones as needed.
Develop ICT administrative guidelines as needed to facilitate standards for hardware, software, IT processes and issues as they arise.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Minimum 2 years of experience; experience with early years education will be an added advantage.
Extensive experience in use and maintenance of educational technology.
Experience in developing e-learning resources.
Administrative/supervisory experience will be an added advantage.
Experience in the installation, configuration, maintenance and use of 21st century education technology devices is required.
Experience in basic software and hardware Installations.
EDUCATION
Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or relevant fields
An education qualification in addition to the above will be an added advantage.
TRCN certification will be an added advantage
Possession of relevant IT certifications will be an added advantage
