Backend Developer

We are on a mission to empower users to learn data science and artificial intelligence (AI) through open-source courses in local languages. Our mobile application will also feature interactive elements like trivia, quizzes, and challenges to make learning engaging.

To achieve this, we're looking for a skilled Backend Developer to join our team and build the robust foundation of our application.

Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain secure and scalable backend APIs to power the Locai mobile app.
Integrate with various open-source data science and AI course providers.
Implement user authentication and authorization systems.
Handle data storage, retrieval, and management for courses, user progress, and interactive elements.
Optimize backend performance to ensure a smooth user experience.
Write clean, maintainable, and testable code adhering to best practices.
Collaborate effectively with frontend developers and product managers.

Qualifications:
Proven experience in backend development with a strong understanding of RESTful APIs.
Proficiency in a server-side programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Node.js).
Experience with database technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).
Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure) is a plus.
Experience with authentication and authorization frameworks.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
