Financial Accountant

The Financial Accountant is a core position in the Finance Unit of AW Telecommunications Limited that will play an important role in assisting the management of financial records, ensuring, accurate and timely financial reporting, and supporting various financial activities within the company.
The Financial Accountant will accurately prepare and maintain accounting documents and records. The Incumbent will daily enter and manage financial transactions into the company’s database.

Responsibilities: 
● Ensure preparation and maintenance of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports in
compliance with company policies and financial standards
● Reduce errors to the barest minimum in financial transactions 
● Monitor and report on accounting discrepancies and inconsistencies
● Meet up with reporting timelines and deadlines- monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
● Act as a consultant for senior managers, conducting cost and revenue analyses
● Collaborate with teams to prepare and conduct internal audits 
● Analyze financial data, and performance metrics to provide recommendations for improving
financial profitability and overall efficiency
● Overseeing tax payments, whilst staying updated with tax laws and regulations 
● Keeping up-to-date with financial policies, practices, and regulations
● Maintain an efficient financial records system, safeguarding all company’s financial documents,
ensuring their completeness and accuracy 
● Advising the company on the treatment of the Company’s Asset 
● Function following established standards, procedures, and applicable laws
 
Skills: 
● ICT industry knowledge 
● Advanced Knowledge of Taxation and budgeting
● Knowledge of MS Office, Excel, QuickBooks databases and accounting software
● Hands-on Experience in Accounting and Accounting practices 
● Strong attention to detail and an investigative nature
● Accounting Savvy  
● Teamwork and effective collaboration
● Analytical skills 
● Good time management skills and the ability to prioritize

Qualifications: 
 Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant field
 Proven work experience as a Financial Accountant or similar role
 Working knowledge of MS Excel and accounting software
 In-depth understanding of business bookkeeping procedures
 A recognized professional certification will be an added advantage (ICAN, ACCA)
