Job Description

A Mechanical Engineer at Nalis Pharmaceuticals Ltd is responsible for ensuring the efficient, safe, and regulatory-compliant operation of machinery and equipment used in the production and packaging of pharmaceutical products.
Equipment Design and Development:

Key Responsibilities
1. Design, develop, and oversee the installation and modification of mechanical systems and equipment to enhance production efficiency and reliability.
2. Perform routine maintenance and repairs, troubleshoot mechanical failures, and execute corrective actions to minimize downtime.
3. Collaborate with production teams to optimize manufacturing processes, analyze equipment performance, and implement improvements to increase productivity.
4. Ensure all mechanical systems and equipment comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and other regulatory standards, maintaining necessary documentation for compliance.
5. Manage engineering projects from conception to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, and coordination with other departments, ensuring timely and within-scope completion.
6. Implement and maintain safety protocols to prevent accidents, ensure a safe working environment, and collaborate with quality assurance teams to maintain product quality.
7. Provide training and technical support to production staff on equipment operation and maintenance, and develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for mechanical systems.
8. Stay updated with advancements in mechanical engineering and pharmaceutical manufacturing technologies, conducting research to develop new or improved mechanical systems.

Skills and Qualifications
Educational Background:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; advanced degrees may be preferred for higher-level positions.
Experience:

Relevant experience in mechanical engineering, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry, and familiarity with GMP and other regulatory requirements.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks), strong knowledge of mechanical systems and manufacturing processes, and the ability to analyze and solve complex mechanical problems.

Soft Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and teamwork abilities, and project management skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Tools and Technologies
Software:

CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks), project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project), and maintenance management software (e.g., CMMS systems).

Equipment:

Various mechanical tools and diagnostic equipment for troubleshooting and maintenance, and production and packaging machinery specific to the pharmaceutical industry.
