Job Description

Summary:
Seedbuilders Innovation Hub is seeking an Accountant who will be responsible for overseeing all accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and managing the financial aspects of our various projects. The ideal candidate must be chartered and possess extensive experience in project accounting, financial reporting, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for all projects.
• Monitor project budgets, ensuring adherence to financial plans and objectives.
• Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Reconcile the accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Prepare project-specific financial reports and analyses for management and stakeholders.
• Conduct financial forecasting and budget analysis for ongoing and future projects.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations and standards. Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies as needed.
• Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard project assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payments and collections.
• Prepare and file tax returns and other regulatory filings, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Assist in the development and monitoring of project budgets, ensuring financial sustainability and cost-effectiveness by tracking and reporting on project costs, ensuring proper allocation of expenses.
• Provide financial input for project proposals and funding applications.
• Identify opportunities for improving financial systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Implement best practices in accounting and financial management.
Qualifications:
• Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, ANAN, or equivalent) required, preferably ICAN.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on project-based accounting.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and MS Office Suite (especially Excel).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial information to diverse stakeholders.
• Experience in budgeting, financial forecasting, and project cost tracking.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
