Job Description

The Commercial Lead would be responsible for driving strategic sales growth and managing key accounts within the FMCG sector. This role involves developing and executing commercial strategies, fostering relationships with major retailers and distributors, and ensuring that the company’s products achieve optimal market penetration and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning and Execution:

Develop and implement commercial strategies that align with the company’s overall business objectives and growth targets.
Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for growth and expansion.
Set and monitor performance metrics for key accounts and sales activities.
Key Account Management:

Build and maintain strong relationships with major retailers, distributors, and strategic partners.
Negotiate and close high-value contracts and agreements with key accounts.
Collaborate with key accounts to develop customized promotional and marketing plans.
Sales Strategy and Execution:

Design and execute sales plans to drive revenue growth and achieve sales targets.
Oversee the development of sales forecasts and ensure alignment with production and supply chain operations.
Monitor sales performance, analyze data, and provide regular reports to senior management.
Market Development:

Identify and evaluate new market opportunities and potential business partnerships.
Develop and implement strategies to increase market share and enhance brand presence.
Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and consumer preferences.
Team Leadership and Development:

Lead, mentor, and manage a team of sales professionals to achieve performance goals.
Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team skills and capabilities.
Foster a collaborative and high-performance sales culture within the team.
Financial Management:

Develop and manage budgets for commercial activities, ensuring cost-effectiveness and profitability.
Monitor financial performance and ensure that commercial strategies are aligned with financial objectives.
Analyze financial data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Work closely with marketing, product development, and supply chain teams to ensure alignment of commercial strategies with other business functions.
Coordinate with the finance team to manage pricing strategies, discounts, and promotional offers.
Engage with customer service to address any issues or feedback from key accounts.
Reporting and Analysis:

Prepare and present regular reports on commercial performance, market trends, and competitive analysis to senior management.
Use data-driven insights to make informed decisions and refine commercial strategies.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred).
7-10 years of experience in a commercial or sales leadership role, preferably within the FMCG sector.
Proven track record of managing key accounts and driving significant sales growth.
Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
Proficiency in using sales and CRM software, as well as MS Office applications.
