Job Description

Job Title: Oncology Nurse
Location: Ebonyi State
Salary: 170k

Job Summary
As an oncology nurse, you will be responsible for providing compassionate care to patients undergoing treatment for cancer. Working closely with oncologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals, you will administer medications, monitor patient conditions, and educate patients and their families about treatment plans and potential side effects. Your role will also involve offering emotional support, coordinating patient care, and advocating for patient needs within the healthcare team.

Responsibilities
1. Administer chemotherapy treatments and other medications as prescribed by oncologists.
2. Monitor patients for adverse reactions to treatments and medications, and intervene as necessary.
3. Assess patient conditions and collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and adjust individualized care plans.
4. Educate patients and families about cancer treatments, medications, and supportive care measures.
5. Provide emotional support and guidance to patients and families coping with the challenges of cancer diagnosis and treatment.
6. Coordinate with other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive patient care and continuity of treatment.
7. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of care provided.
8. Stay updated on advancements in oncology treatments and practices through continuing education and professional development.
9. Participate in clinical research and trials as appropriate, following established protocols and ethical guidelines.
10. Advocate for patient rights and ensure that ethical and legal standards of nursing practice are upheld.

Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- A bachelor’s degree in nursing
- Certification in Oncology Nursing (OCN) preferred.
- Prior experience in oncology or a related field is strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and emotionally demanding environment.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
Salary:
170.000,00 NGN Monthly
