Job Description

Job Summary: The Web Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the company’s websites and web applications. This role requires a deep understanding of front-end and back-end technologies, a strong sense of design, and the ability to collaborate with various teams to bring creative visions to life.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Develop, maintain, and optimize responsive websites and web applications.
2.Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other web technologies.
3.Ensure cross-browser and cross-device compatibility of websites.
4.Work closely with designers, content creators, and UX/UI teams to implement visually appealing and user-friendly web experiences.
5.Translate design mockups and wireframes into functional web pages.
6.Provide technical insight during the planning and design phases of web projects.
7.Develop and manage server-side logic, databases, and integration of APIs.
8.Ensure the security and scalability of web applications.
9.Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to web hosting, server performance, and database queries.
10.Customize and manage content management systems, such as WordPress, Drupal, or custom-built solutions.
11.Collaborate with content teams to ensure seamless integration and publication of content.
12.Optimize CMS performance and functionality to meet business needs.
13.Monitor and optimize website performance, including page load times, responsiveness, and SEO.
14.Implement best practices for web performance, including image optimization, caching, and code minification.
15.Conduct regular testing and debugging to ensure a seamless user experience.
Skills and Requirements:
i. Strong experience with front-end technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, etc.).
ii. Proficiency in back-end development using languages such as PHP, Python, Ruby, or Node.js.
iii. Experience with databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and web servers (Apache, Nginx).
iv. Hands-on experience with popular content management systems like WordPress, Drupal, or Joomla.
v. Ability to customize and extend CMS functionalities to meet specific project requirements.
vi. Knowledge of themes, plugins, and module development within CMS platforms.
vii. Experience in creating responsive and adaptive web designs.
viii. Understanding of mobile-first development and the nuances of different screen sizes and devices.
ix. Familiarity with CSS frameworks such as Bootstrap or Foundation.
x. Knowledge of SEO best practices and how to implement them in web development.
xi. Experience with web analytics tools like Google Analytics to track and improve website performance.
xii. Ability to optimize websites for search engines and monitor their effectiveness.
Qualifications:
a. bachelor’s degree in computer science, Web Development, or a related field.
b. Minimum of 3 years of professional web development experience, preferably in the media industry.
c. Proven track record of delivering high-quality, scalable web applications.
d. Familiarity with agile development methodologies is a plus.
