Job Description

Position: Legal Manager
Industry: Food and Beverages
Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Key Responsibilities:
Legal Counsel:
Provide legal advice to the company on all matters affecting its operations.
Ensure the company’s activities are compliant with applicable laws and regulations.
Contract Management:
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with vendors, partners, and clients.
Manage the company’s contract database and ensure all agreements are up to date.
Regulatory Compliance:
Monitor changes in laws and regulations and advise the company on necessary adjustments.
Ensure compliance with industry-specific regulations and standards.
Litigation Management:
Oversee and manage all legal disputes and litigation involving the company.
Liaise with external counsel when necessary and manage legal costs effectively.
Corporate Governance:
Advise senior management on corporate governance matters and ensure compliance with corporate policies.
Conduct legal audits and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB); a Master’s Degree or professional certification (e.g., BL) is preferred.
3-5 years of experience in a legal management role, preferably in the food and beverages industry.
Strong knowledge of corporate law, contract management, and regulatory compliance.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Proven experience in managing litigation and mitigating legal risks.
