Job Description
Location: Lagos
Grade Level: Grade 2
Reports To: Technical Manager
Job Objective:
Proactively gather and analyze materials, labor, and equipment data for accurate cost estimates while identifying uncertainties. Update costs with new information and collaborate with project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and maintain sustainable engineering practices.
2. Conduct on-site investigations and analyze data (maps, reports, etc.).
3. Prepare technical blueprints and feasibility studies.
4. Assess risks, materials, and costs.
5. Provide creative solutions to problems.
6. Mentor staff and liaise with stakeholders.
7. Monitor project progress and compile reports.
8. Manage budgets and procure materials.
9. Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE):
Collaborate on health and safety initiatives, report unsafe conditions, and participate in training.
Key Performance Areas:
• Financial: Optimize costs through staff effectiveness.
• Internal Process: Ensure staff training meets efficiency needs.
Qualifications:
• Certificate of Artisanship / OND, HND, or BSc in Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years in electrical work; 4+ years in a supervisory role.
• Knowledge of electrical designs and AutoCAD.
Skills:
• Strong communication and reporting skills.
• Proficient in math and organization.
• Computer literacy (MS Word/Excel) is a plus.
Working Conditions:
• Office environment with computer work. Occasional travel may be required.
