Job Description
Position Title: Regional Sales Manager
Salary: 300k -450k
Department: Sales
Reports to: Sales Director/Head of Sales
Location: PH, Benin, Warri (East)
Experience Required: 7+ years in FMCG industry
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Regional Sales Manager to join our dynamic team in the FMCG industry. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales leadership, exceptional team management skills, and a deep understanding of FMCG market dynamics. The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for driving regional sales growth, managing a team of sales executives, and building strong relationships with key customers and distributors in the region.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales Strategy Development & Execution:
o Develop and implement regional sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and market share growth.
o Collaborate with the senior management team to align regional goals with overall business objectives.
o Identify and pursue new business opportunities and markets within the region.
2. Team Management & Development:
o Lead, motivate, and mentor a team of sales executives to meet or exceed sales targets.
o Provide coaching and training to ensure high levels of performance, product knowledge, and customer service.
o Conduct regular performance reviews and provide actionable feedback to team members.
3. Customer Relationship Management:
o Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and retail partners.
o Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by addressing issues and needs in a timely manner.
o Oversee the development of effective sales support tools and marketing strategies to meet customer requirements.
4. Sales Performance & Reporting:
o Monitor and analyze regional sales performance to identify trends and areas for improvement.
o Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance reviews for senior management.
o Adjust sales strategies based on data-driven insights and feedback from the field.
5. Market Intelligence:
o Stay up-to-date with market trends, competitor activities, and consumer behavior to inform sales strategies.
o Gather competitive intelligence and provide recommendations to stay ahead in the market.
o Identify new product opportunities and potential risks in the market.
6. Budget Management:
o Oversee regional sales budgets and ensure cost-effectiveness in all activities.
o Manage promotional budgets and ensure the efficient allocation of resources.
7. Compliance & Reporting:
o Ensure that all sales activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.
o Maintain accurate records of sales transactions, contracts, and agreements.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in sales, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within the FMCG industry.
• Proven experience in developing and executing sales strategies, achieving revenue targets, and managing large teams.
• Strong knowledge of the FMCG market, including key players, distribution channels, and consumer trends.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to analyze sales data and develop action plans based on insights.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to travel within the region as needed.
