Job Title: Forklift Operator

Reports to: Warehouse Manager / Logistics Supervisor

Job Summary:
The Forklift Operator will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating forklifts to transport goods, materials, and supplies within the warehouse, storage areas, or production site. The role requires a strong focus on safety, attention to detail, and the ability to perform various tasks related to loading, unloading, and inventory management.

Key Responsibilities:

Forklift Operation:

Operate forklifts to load, unload, and move materials within the warehouse or other designated areas.
Safely stack and organize materials, products, or pallets in proper locations.
Ensure proper handling and transportation of goods to prevent damage during operations.
Inventory Management:

Assist with inventory management by accurately storing and retrieving items.
Help with cycle counting and stock taking to ensure inventory accuracy.
Assist with organizing the warehouse to maintain order and efficient use of space.
Loading and Unloading:

Load and unload materials from trucks, containers, or storage racks.
Ensure that all items are safely secured and accounted for during transportation.
Safety Compliance:

Follow all safety protocols, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Conduct pre-operation safety checks on forklifts, ensuring that equipment is in good working condition.
Report any maintenance issues, damage, or safety concerns related to the forklift or other equipment.
Record Keeping:

Maintain accurate records of materials handled, moved, or delivered within the warehouse or work area.
Record movement of goods, stock levels, and other relevant data in inventory systems or logs.
General Warehouse Duties:

Assist with general warehouse duties, such as cleaning, organizing, or maintaining equipment.
Participate in loading and unloading goods when not operating the forklift.
Communication and Teamwork:

Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and other departments to ensure the smooth flow of operations.
Work collaboratively with the team to achieve daily operational goals and ensure safe working conditions.
Maintenance and Care of Equipment:

Ensure that forklifts are kept clean and well-maintained to extend their operational life.
Perform minor maintenance on forklifts and report any major mechanical issues for repair.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
Previous experience as a forklift operator or in a warehouse environment is preferred.
Forklift certification is required (e.g., OSHA-certified or equivalent).
Experience with other warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, reach trucks) is a plus.
