Job Description (Summary):
As an Accountant, you will handle financial record-keeping, budgeting, accounts management, taxation compliance, and financial reporting. You will also drive process improvements and provide financial guidance to teams to align with operational and strategic goals.
Financial Record-Keeping:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, invoices, receipts, and payments.
Record and reconcile transactions related to agritech and fintech operations, such as loan disbursements, repayments, and commissions.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist in preparing budgets and financial forecasts.
Monitor budget utilization and report on variances.
Collaborate with departments to align financial planning with operational goals.
Accounts Management:
Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes.
Prepare and process payroll while ensuring tax compliance.
Reconcile bank statements and promptly resolve discrepancies.
Taxation and Compliance:
Ensure compliance with local tax laws and regulatory requirements.
Prepare and file tax returns, VAT, and other statutory obligations.
Maintain proper documentation for audits and compliance checks.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Analyze financial performance and provide actionable insights to management.
Generate KPI-related reports for agritech and fintech activities.
Process Improvement:
Identify and implement improvements in financial processes and controls.
Assist in integrating financial software for operational efficiency.
Support the implementation of fintech-based payment and accounting systems.
Collaboration and Support:
Work with the customer service team to address customer payment queries.
Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory bodies during audits and inspections.
Provide financial guidance to non-financial teams, including project costing and service pricing.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or ICAN are highly preferred.
3–5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the agritech, fintech, or financial services industry.
Familiarity with agriculture-related financial models or fintech accounting practices is a strong advantage.
