Job Description

Job Responsibilities of Hospital Cleaners

Cleaning and Disinfecting:
Thoroughly clean and disinfect patient rooms, operating rooms, waiting areas, and other hospital spaces.
Use appropriate cleaning agents and disinfectants to ensure surfaces are free from germs and contaminants.

Waste Management:
Properly dispose of medical waste, including sharps, biohazard materials, and general waste, following hospital protocols and safety regulations.Ensure that waste bins are emptied regularly and replaced with clean liners.

Floor Care:
Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in various areas of the hospital.Strip, wax, and buff floors as needed to maintain cleanliness and appearance.

Restroom Maintenance:
Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and mirrors, ensuring they are stocked with necessary supplies (e.g., soap, toilet paper, paper towels).Monitor and report any maintenance issues in restrooms.

Laundry Services:
Collect, wash, and fold linens, towels, and other hospital laundry items.Ensure that clean linens are delivered to the appropriate areas in a timely manner.

Inventory Management:
Keep track of cleaning supplies and equipment, notifying supervisors when supplies are low or when equipment needs maintenance or replacement.

Safety and Compliance:
Follow all safety protocols and infection control guidelines to minimize the risk of spreading infections. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required, such as gloves, masks, and gowns.

Reporting and Communication:
Report any safety hazards, maintenance issues, or unusual occurrences to supervisors promptly. Communicate effectively with other staff members to coordinate cleaning schedules and ensure thareas are cleaned without disrupting patient care.

Specialized Cleaning:
Perform specialized cleaning tasks as needed, such as cleaning after patient discharges, terminal cleaning of rooms, and cleaning in isolation areas.

Customer Service:
Provide friendly and respectful service to patients, visitors, and staff, contributing to a positive hospital environment.
