Job Title: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Location: Abuja

Job Overview:

Our client, a prominent multinational organization, is seeking a highly skilled Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with a strong background in the power or energy sector. The ideal candidate will bring strategic financial leadership, deep industry insights from the power/energy sector, and the ability to manage complex financial operations in a dynamic, global environment. This role requires a visionary leader who can drive financial performance, optimize capital structures, and support the company’s growth strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Financial Leadership:
• Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company’s objectives.
• Provide financial advice to the CEO and Board, leveraging insights from the power/energy sector to optimize business performance.
• Lead financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes across multiple regions.
• Financial Management:
• Oversee financial operations, including accounting, reporting, treasury, and tax functions.
• Ensure robust financial controls, cost management, and efficiency initiatives to maximize profitability.
• Drive continuous improvement in financial systems and processes to support business scalability.
• Risk & Compliance:
• Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, particularly in relation to complex projects or capital-intensive operations.
• Ensure compliance with international financial regulations, accounting standards, and corporate governance practices.
• Lead audit processes, manage regulatory reporting, and maintain strong relationships with auditors and regulatory bodies.
• Capital & Investment Management:
• Oversee cash flow, capital allocation, and investment activities to support business growth and sustainability.
• Manage relationships with banks, investors, and financial institutions to secure optimal financing arrangements.
• Provide strategic insights into mergers, acquisitions, and other investment opportunities, leveraging expertise from the energy sector.
• Team Leadership & Development:
• Build and lead a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous development.
• Mentor finance leaders to enhance their capabilities in strategic financial management.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (Master’s degree or MBA preferred).
• Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, CFA, or equivalent are highly desirable.
• Minimum of 12 years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a CFO or senior finance role.
• Strong background in the power or energy sector, with proven experience managing financial operations in capital-intensive industries.
• Demonstrated expertise in strategic financial planning, risk management, corporate finance, and investment analysis.
• Experience in multinational environments, with exposure to cross-border financial operations and regulatory frameworks.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
