Job Description
Key Responsibilities of a Brewery Technician
1. Equipment Operation & Monitoring
Operates and monitors brewing, fermentation, filtration, and packaging machinery.
Adjusts settings for temperature, pressure, and flow rates to ensure consistency.
Ensures efficient operation of bottling, canning, and kegging machines.
2. Maintenance & Troubleshooting
Performs routine maintenance on brewery equipment to prevent breakdowns.
Troubleshoots mechanical, electrical, and automation issues in machines.
Works with Process Engineers and Maintenance Teams to resolve technical faults.
3. Quality Control & Compliance
Ensures beer meets quality, taste, and safety standards.
Monitors parameters like pH, alcohol content, carbonation, and temperature.
Conducts regular equipment inspections to comply with GMP, HACCP, and ISO standards.
4. Cleaning & Sanitation
Cleans and sanitizes tanks, pipes, and brewing equipment to prevent contamination.
Follows CIP (Clean-in-Place) procedures for automated cleaning systems.
Maintains hygiene standards in the brewing area.
5. Process Support & Optimization
Assists in improving brewing efficiency and reducing waste.
Implements process improvements to enhance productivity.
Provides input on new brewing technologies and automation.
6. Safety & Environmental Compliance
Ensures compliance with workplace safety regulations (OSHA, HSE, etc.).
Handles hazardous materials (chemicals for cleaning, CO₂ in carbonation) safely.
Follows environmental best practices for waste disposal and water conservation.
7. Documentation & Reporting
Keeps records of equipment performance, maintenance, and repairs.
Logs production data, including batch numbers, ingredient usage, and process parameters.
Reports any technical issues to the Brewery Engineer or Production Manager.
