Job Description

The Project Manager for the Ignite Soccer competitions will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of sports-related projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. This role requires a strong understanding of project management principles, the sports industry, and collaboration with various stakeholders, including athletes, coaches, sponsors, and vendors.

Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Strategy: Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resources required. Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.

Team Management: Lead and manage project teams, including internal staff, contractors, and external vendors. Ensure clear communication and effective collaboration within the team.

Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact for all project stakeholders, ensuring alignment with expectations and requirements. Regularly communicate project status, challenges, and milestones.

Budget & Resource Management: Monitor project budgets, manage resources, and ensure that the project stays on track financially. Identify cost-saving opportunities and mitigate financial risks.

Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and create mitigation plans. Address challenges proactively to keep the project moving forward smoothly.
Event Coordination (if applicable): For sports events, oversee logistical aspects including scheduling, venue management, athlete coordination, and sponsor engagement.
Quality Control: Ensure all deliverables meet the defined quality standards. Conduct regular reviews and audits to maintain quality across all project elements.
Reporting: Provide regular progress reports to senior management, including updates on milestones, risks, and performance metrics.
Compliance & Safety: Ensure all project activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and safety standards, especially for sporting events and related activities.
Post-Project Evaluation: Lead post-project analysis, identifying lessons learned, and recommending improvements for future projects.

Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience managing sports-related projects, including event management, facility development, or team operations.
Strong understanding of the sports industry, trends, and the logistics involved in organizing events or managing teams.
Proven experience in managing cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and complex projects with multiple moving parts.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
Experience with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Asana, Trello, etc.).
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, depending on project requirements (especially for events).
Strong leadership qualities with a focus on team building, collaboration, and motivation.

Desirable Skills:
Experience in digital media and marketing within the sports industry.
Knowledge of sponsorship and partnership management in sports.
Familiarity with ticketing, broadcasting, and fan engagement strategies.
Understanding of athlete logistics, including travel and accommodation coordination.
Working Conditions:
May require travel to events, meetings, or project sites.
Flexibility in work hours, particularly around event schedules.
