Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Chinese Translator who is fluent in both Mandarin Chinese and English. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately translating written documents and spoken language between Chinese and English. You will play a key role in ensuring clear and effective communication across language barriers, working in various sectors such as business, legal, healthcare, marketing, or technical fields. Attention to detail, cultural understanding, and excellent language skills are essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities:
Translate written documents from Chinese to English and vice versa with a high level of accuracy and fluency.
Interpret spoken language during meetings, conference calls, and other interactions, ensuring the translation maintains the intended meaning and tone.
Review and edit translations to ensure the highest standards of quality and accuracy.
Work closely with various departments (e.g., legal, marketing, operations) to provide translation support as needed.
Ensure that all translated materials are culturally appropriate and relevant to the target audience.
Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Provide real-time translation for presentations or client meetings, as necessary.
Stay updated with language trends, terminology, and nuances to ensure high-quality translations.
Qualifications:
Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English, both written and spoken.
Proven experience in translation (preferably 2+ years in a professional setting).
Familiarity with industry-specific terminology is a plus (e.g., legal, medical, business).
Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain the original tone, style, and meaning of the text.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Bachelor’s degree in translation, linguistics, Chinese studies, or a related field preferred.
Certification in translation (e.g., ATA, NAATI) is a plus but not required.
Skills and Competencies:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Chinese and English.
Strong proofreading and editing abilities.
Proficiency in translation tools and software (e.g., SDL Trados, MemoQ, etc.) is an advantage.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements and priorities.
Cultural awareness and sensitivity to nuances in language use.
