Job Description

ROLE PURPOSE

Reporting to the Line Manager, the Microcredit Officer will be responsible for; client relationship management, identifying opportunities to drives sales, and assist in the development and execution of sales and marketing plans.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor Degree in Banking & Finance, Marketing and any other related course
2 years minimum experience in a similar role.

EXPERIENCE

At least three years’ work experience preferably in Microfinance Bank.

SKILLS REQUIRED

1. Passion and commitment to quality service performance;

2. Ability to work/communicate with various customer segments such as farmers, business persons, employed and professionals.

3. Excellent training, leadership and management skills.

4. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

5. Ability to prioritize tasks, delegating when appropriate.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. In charge of growth and quality of micro-credit sector at organization level

2. Monitoring the micro credit portfolio on trends and warning signs.

3. Ensure that the branches are proactive and effective in monitoring the micro-credit portfolio

4. Enhancement of pre-loan and post loan approval compliance

5. Ensure implementation of overall micro-credit strategies as well as enhancement of credit policy compliance.

6. Ensure compliance of micro-credit guidelines by the bank

7. Analysing the micro-credit segment products and availing reports.

8. Cause marketing in the branches to recruit more members and groups to the bank

9. Reviewing and analysing the client’s credit risk status and offering expert advice to the credit department and other relevant officers.

10. Causing loan monitoring and risk management with aim of avoiding credit defaulters and interest suspension.

11. Stay abreast on new types of loans and other financial services and products in order to better meet members’ needs.

12. Ensuring safe custody of the micro-credit documents and items from the branches.

13. Any other duty assigned by superiors from time to time.
