Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems in building projects, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other related systems.
• Review and interpret mechanical design documents, technical specifications, and shop drawings to ensure proper installation and compliance with project requirements.
• Monitor and inspect the work of contractors and subcontractors to ensure high-quality workmanship, safety, and compliance with project specifications and local building codes.
• Conduct regular site inspections and attend site meetings to assess project progress, identify potential issues, and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
• Ensure mechanical systems are properly integrated with other building systems, including electrical, structural, and architectural elements.
• Provide technical guidance to the project team and contractors regarding mechanical installations and system optimization.
• Coordinate with project managers, architects, and other engineering disciplines to resolve design conflicts and optimize system performance.
• Ensure that all mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems, comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations.
• Perform regular checks and inspections to ensure that all installations and modifications meet safety standards and operational requirements.
• Oversee the commissioning process for mechanical systems to verify that all systems function correctly before handover to the client.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, approvals, and work completed throughout the project.
• Assist with the preparation of reports, progress updates, and project documentation.
• Provide technical support in troubleshooting and resolving any mechanical-related issues that may arise during construction or post-construction phases.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• COREN and NSE Registered
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Mechanical engineer, with a focus on building construction projects and site supervision.
• Proven experience in supervising Mechanical engineering works on construction projects, particularly in building projects.
• In-depth knowledge of Mechanical engineering principles, building codes, construction methods, and safety regulations.
• Proficiency in civil engineering design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.) and project management tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with contractors, project managers, architects, and other engineers.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues on-site.
• Knowledge of safety practices and regulations relevant to construction sites.
