Job Description

Position Overview:
Jesny Farms is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team, a leading agribusiness. The accountant will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring accuracy in transactions, preparing reports, and supporting budgeting and financial planning. The ideal candidate will have experience in accounting within the agriculture or grain industry and a strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records,
including trial balance, cash book, general ledger entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
2. Invoicing & Payments: Prepare and process invoices, track payments, and manage collections.
3. Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements and cash book to ensure accurate cash flow management.
4. Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, reports, and summaries for management review.
5. Cost Analysis: Monitor and analyze costs of grain procurement, storage, and
distribution to optimize profitability.
6. Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial
forecasts, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
7. Tax Compliance: Ensure tax filings and compliance with relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements.
8. Inventory Tracking: Work with the operations team to ensure accurate tracking of grain inventory and related financial adjustments.
9. Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the agriculture or grain industry.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in the use of accounting software Zohobooks, SAP,
Microsoft Excel, and financial reporting tools.
• Knowledge: Familiarity with agricultural industry, financial practices and regulations.
• Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze financial data.
• Communication: Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial data clearly.
