Job Description
The IC Manager is responsible for amplifying company objectives and key messages across the organization with clarity. This includes championing digital transformation and rewarding a work ethic. These messages should be conveyed with clarity. On a broader scale, internal communication should create motivation to enhance performance and instill a sense of pride in the workplace.
Positive communications and engagement will build the company's reputation as a digital leader and a desirable employer. The IC Manager should view the company’s employees and subcontractors as ambassadors. What they say in their communities and with their peers will impact the organization’s reputation.
This role relies on transparency, engagement, and performance by enabling two-way internal communication. The IC manager will gather and use their knowledge of employee needs and concerns management objectives.
Deliverables:
Quarterly Employee Newsletters:
● Conceptualize, write, and produce a quarterly employee newsletter ● Content will include:
○ Updates on the digital transformation journey
○ New internal app features/functions
○ Product news and upcoming promotions
○ Recognition of top-performing employees, especially in sales
● Ensure messaging is aligned with the visions of the leadership team while tailored to diverse audiences.
Staff Surveys, Engagement & Feedback:
● Design and assist with the planning and execution of:
○ Employee surveys to gauge sentiment and feedback on company programs
○ Provide a channel for feedback where staff can speak frankly and respectfully
○ Organize townhalls, workshops, virtual events and other activities in collaboration with HR and management
● Collaborate with departments to craft messaging themes and tactics that resonate with staff.
Production and Maintenance of communication material
● Conceptualization and development of Employee Handbook
● Oversee corporate LinkedIn and other social media presence that impacts company reputation
Insight Reports for management and planning:
● The manager will provide reports for executive management that summarizes key employee sentiment and concerns across entities, departments and managerial levels
● The IC Manager will produce monthly reports within those parameters ● Reports should present multiple options for action and messaging each with pros and cons, including a recommendation
● This is achieved through consistent and direct interaction with staff across companies to:
○ Gauge day-to-day sentiment
○ Identify both short-term issues and long-term trends
○ Capture what’s working well across departments and what needs tweaking or an overhaul
● Act as a “reporter and radar” for executive management, gathering insights on the real mood and needs of employees, employee interaction, relationships to each other and views of the company, all the while without being intrusive.
Creating SOP and Collaborating with stakeholders:
● Create an SOP that improves the communication flow from message drafting to approval process (This involves senior management, HR, legal, and project managers)
