Loan Collection Officer

Job Summary:
The Loan Collection and Recovery Officer is responsible for managing delinquent accounts, executing recovery strategies, and negotiating repayment plans to minimize bad debt. The role involves proactive communication with customers, tracking overdue payments, and ensuring compliance with collection policies.

Key Responsibilities:
• Track and monitor outstanding loans, ensuring timely follow-up on overdue payments.
• Execute recovery strategies for delinquent accounts, including legal action when necessary.
• Negotiate repayment plans, settlements, and payoff deadlines with customers.
• Issue payment reminders (calls, SMS, emails, and letters) to defaulting customers.
• Maintain professional yet firm communication to secure repayments.
• Handle disputes and offer restructuring options where applicable.
• Maintain accurate records of collection activities and customer interactions.
• Prepare regular reports on recovery progress and portfolio status.
• Ensure collections adhere to company policies and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications:
• Experience in loan collections, debt recovery, or a similar role.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Knowledge of collection laws and regulations.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet targets.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel) and loan management systems.
