Job Description

Job Summary:
We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Accountant to manage our financial records, ensure accuracy in transactions, and support the day-to-day financial operations of our real estate business. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles and a keen interest in real estate accounting, including property sales, rental income, project costing, and client payment tracking.

Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain accurate records of all property sales, land transactions, and client payments.
• Prepare invoices, receipts, and payment schedules for clients.
• Monitor and reconcile client account balances, ensuring timely payments.
• Record day-to-day financial transactions and post them to the general ledger.
• Track project expenses and prepare profitability reports.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
• Handle accounts payable and receivable.
• Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and prepare tax filings (VAT, PAYE, WHT, etc.).
• Maintain documentation and ensure proper filing of financial records.
• Contribute to financial process improvements and internal controls.

Requirements and Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional certification (e.g., ACA, ACCA) is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 2–5 years’ accounting experience, preferably in real estate or a related industry.
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and real estate accounting practices.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or Excel-based systems).
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Working Conditions:
• Office-based role with occasional visits to project sites if required.
