Job Overview:
The Tracking Officer is responsible for real-time monitoring of fleet movement, ensuring timely delivery of consignments, and maintaining constant communication with drivers to enhance operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and experience with tracking software and logistics coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor the movement and location of all company vehicles using GPS tracking systems.
• Communicate regularly with drivers to track progress and resolve delivery or routing issues.
• Ensure that all transport activities are executed according to plan and within delivery timelines.
• Maintain accurate records of daily vehicle routes, delivery statuses, and exceptions.
• Alert the operations team of any deviations from planned routes or delivery schedules.
• Compile and submit daily, weekly, and monthly tracking reports.
• Report vehicle breakdowns, delays, or emergencies to the appropriate authorities or departments.
• Coordinate with dispatchers and logistics officers to ensure optimal vehicle deployment.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and transport regulations.
• Assist in investigating route deviations, accidents, or loss of cargo.
Requirements:
• OND/HND/BSc in Logistics, Transport Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in a tracking or logistics coordination role.
• Proficient in the use of GPS tracking platforms and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Knowledge of Nigerian roads and logistics operations is an added advantage.
Working Conditions:
• May be required to work shifts, weekends, or public holidays depending on operational demands.
