Job Description
A Senior Architect leads the planning, design, and execution of large-scale architectural projects. They provide expert guidance throughout the design and construction phases, ensuring alignment with client goals, regulatory standards, and sustainability principles. The Senior Architect supervises junior architects and collaborates closely with engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver innovative, functional, and high-quality building solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead architectural design and planning for commercial, residential, institutional, or industrial projects.
Manage all phases of the project lifecycle—from conceptual design to construction administration.
Conduct feasibility studies, site analysis, and risk assessments to guide project direction.
Review and approve detailed architectural drawings, models, and specifications.
Ensure compliance with building codes, zoning laws, and safety regulations.
Mentor and supervise junior architects, interns, and design teams.
Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and government agencies to coordinate project execution.
Oversee project budgets, timelines, and quality standards.
Integrate sustainable and energy-efficient solutions into architectural designs.
Represent the firm in high-level client meetings, presentations, and proposal submissions.
Key Skills and Competencies:
Proven leadership in architectural project delivery and team coordination.
Advanced proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD, SketchUp, etc.).
Deep knowledge of construction techniques, materials, and regulatory requirements.
Strong visual, analytical, and technical design skills.
Effective communication, negotiation, and client management abilities.
Strong time management and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with project management tools and documentation protocols.
Education and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from a recognized institution.
Registration with the Architects Registration Council of Nigeria (ARCON) or equivalent.
Minimum of 7–10 years of professional experience, including supervisory roles.
PMP or similar project management certification (optional but advantageous).
