Job Summary

The House Master or House Mistress is responsible for managing staff layover accommodations, ensuring cleanliness, safety, orderliness, and the general welfare of all staff residing on-site. The role involves supervising day-to-day house operations, enforcing accommodation policies, and maintaining a comfortable living environment for employees.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily operations of staff layover/hostel accommodation.

Ensure rooms, common areas, and facilities are clean, secure, and well-maintained.

Monitor staff check-in/check-out for accommodation use.

Maintain an updated accommodation roster and records.

Enforce accommodation rules, safety regulations, and company policies.

Address staff concerns or conflicts within the residence promptly.

Conduct regular inspections of rooms, equipment, and facilities.

Coordinate repairs, maintenance, and cleaning schedules with relevant teams.

Manage inventory of accommodation supplies (bedding, cleaning materials, etc.).

Prepare simple reports on occupancy, incidents, and maintenance needs.

Requirements

Previous experience in staff housing management, hostel operations, or similar role.

Good interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive welfare matters.

Basic record-keeping and administrative skills.

Preferred Skills

First Aid or safety training.

Organizational and time management abilities.

Ability to work independently and handle emergencies.

Education & Experience

Minimum SSCE or equivalent; further training in hospitality or facility management is an advantage.

At least 2 year of relevant experience.
