Child Life Line (CLL) has been providing care and comfort to street children in Lagos for the past 30 years, and has grown from literally nothing, to an organization with a Residential Centre at Ibeshe, that has the capacity to house 40 boys ranging from 10-17years and a Drop-in Reception Centre at Gbagada that sees approximately 90 girls and boys a week, coming in every day for two meals, a chance to shower and rest in a safe environment, and classes in basic literacy and life skills. CLL has reunited many children with family members over these years, following up through outreach programme to provide the support (empowerment programme) that will enable the children to remain in the family setting. CLL has sponsored children through school and higher education or apprenticeships and counts 20 graduates of one or the other among our alumni.

Job Description

• Responsible for the health and Well-being of the Children in his care at the Centre.
• Accountable for the monthly financial allocation to the Centre
• Supervise the children activities at the Centre
• Responsible for the Counselling of the children
• Responsible for report of all incidence at the Centre
• Serve as parent for the Children
• Assess the needs of young people, and plan and deliver programs related to areas such as health, fitness, smoking, drugs, gangs, violence, relationships and bullying;
• Regularly monitor and review the quality of the local youth work provision;
• Run arts-based activities, community/environmental projects, residential activities, outdoor education and sporting activities;
• Befriend and support young people in different settings, including outreach work;
• Mentor, coach and support individuals and encourage greater social inclusion;
• Work in partnership with professionals from other organizations that support young people such as social care, health, police, education, youth offending teams and local authorities;
• Attend regular training and development opportunities to maintain an up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding, health and safety and local policy developments;
• Undertake administrative tasks, maintain effective recording systems and respond to queries;
• Work with parents and community groups to win support for improved provision and act as an advocate for young people's interests;

• Qualification: BSc/B.Ed./ B.A. in Guidance and Counselling, Social Work or Educational Psychology
