Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
1. Maintenance and Repair:
o Perform regular maintenance on kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, gas burners, refrigerators, dishwashers, ice cube machines, water dispensers, and ventilation systems.
o Diagnose and repair malfunctions in electrical and mechanical systems.
o Replace faulty parts and components to ensure optimal performance.
2. Troubleshooting:
o Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns and repair requests.
o Identify and resolve issues to minimize downtime and ensure the kitchen remains operational.
3. Installation:
o Assist in the installation of new kitchen equipment and appliances.
o Ensure all installations comply with safety and operational standards.
4. Safety and Compliance:
o Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
o Ensure that all kitchen equipment meets health and safety regulations.
o Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.
5. Preventative Maintenance:
o Develop and implement a preventative maintenance schedule for all kitchen equipment.
o Conduct routine inspections to identify potential problems before they become major issues.
6. Inventory Management:
o Maintain an inventory of spare parts and tools necessary for repairs and maintenance.
o Ensure that all tools and equipment are in good working condition.
7. Collaboration:
o Work closely with the kitchen staff to understand their needs and address any technical issues.
o Coordinate with external vendors and service providers for specialized repairs and services.
8. Documentation:
o Keep detailed logs of all maintenance and repair work performed.
o Report on the status of kitchen equipment and any necessary upgrades or replacements.
Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Equipment management, or a related field; technical training or certification in maintenance-related fields preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 6-7 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a hospitality environment.
• Skills:
o Strong technical skills in electrical and mechanical systems.
o Proven experience in building maintenance, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.
o Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
o Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
o Good communication and interpersonal skills.
o Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and tools.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and on ladders.
• Stamina to work long hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays if necessary.
Working Conditions:
• Work is primarily performed in a commercial kitchen environment.
• Exposure to hot, cold, and humid conditions.
• Occasional exposure to hazardous materials and equipment.
