Job Description

Our client is a leading energy servicing company in the Oil & Gas industry providing engineering services to companies in the upstream. Its core competence includes Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation, Commissioning, Operations, and Maintenance (EPICOM) services for Flowlines, Flowstations, Gas Plants, Pipelines & Terminals. It has rendered those services to Total, Shell, Chevron, Addax, NPDC, ExxonMobil, and other companies. Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Engineering manager to join its executive team. The Engineering Manager will oversee and manage engineering projects in the oil and gas sector, ensuring that all technical aspects are executed efficiently and meet industry standards. This role involves leading a team of engineers, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and managing the lifecycle of engineering projects from conception to completion. The ideal candidate must have a deep knowledge of ALL sub-sectors of Oil & Gas both downstream, upstream, Midstream and Trading, LNG, etc.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Technical Expertise and Project Management:
• Oversee the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems and equipment used in oil and gas operations.
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
• Provide technical support and expertise during all phases of project development, from conceptual design to commissioning.

2. Leadership and Management:
• Lead and manage the mechanical engineering team, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
• Develop and implement strategic plans for the mechanical engineering department aligned with the organization's objectives.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence within the engineering team.
Compliance and Quality Assurance:
• Ensure all mechanical engineering activities comply with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections to maintain high-quality standards in engineering practices.
• Develop and implement quality control procedures and standards.

Collaboration and Communication:
• Collaborate with other departments, including procurement, operations, and maintenance, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and senior management, to provide project updates and address technical issues.
• Represent the organization at industry conferences, seminars, and technical forums.

Innovation and Technology:
• Stay updated with the latest technological advancements and industry trends in mechanical engineering and the oil and gas sector.
• Implement new technologies and methodologies to improve efficiency, safety, and performance.
• Lead research and development initiatives to drive innovation within the engineering team.

Candidate’s Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field (Master’s/M.Sc degree preferred).
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering within the oil and gas industry.
• A minimum of 7 years as Engineering Lead in an Engineering design environment with a background in either Mechanical or Process Engineering.
• The ideal candidate must have led Engineers in a minimum of 20 different Engineering disciplines, an MBA is required in doing this or MSC.
• Proven experience in a managerial or leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment used in oil and gas operations.
• Proficiency in engineering design software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
• Experience with project management methodologies and tools.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
