Job Description
• Transport Oil and Gas products over land to and from depots or retail and distribution centers
• Ability to Inspect truck for mechanical items, safety measures and perform preventative maintenance
• Plan and coordinate routes to meet delivery schedules
• Document log work/rest periods and kilometers spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts
• Input “instructions” into our automated system for each stage of the loading and unloading process
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
• Move trucks into loading or unloading positions
• Ensure excellent care and safety of truck, documents/items and products within the truck
• Collect and verify delivery instructions
• Report defects, accidents or violations on the go.
Requirements and skills
1. 8 years and above work experience as a Truck Driver within the Oil and Gas downstream sector
2. Ability to drive long hours and travel .
3. Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
4. No recent moving or driving violations
5. Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc)
6. Willing to submit to background/drug checks and provide employment recommendations
7. Trucking school diploma is an advantage
8. Valid truck driving license
