Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Provide strategic oversight and leadership for the NGO’s operations, including governance, compliance, and organizational development.
Draft, review, and manage key documents such as partnership agreements, funding proposals, and compliance reports.
Ensure adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and industry best practices in the nonprofit sector.
Oversee the financial and administrative management of the organization, including budget planning and resource allocation.
Represent the NGO in external engagements with partners, donors, regulators, and other stakeholders.
Develop and implement effective strategies for growth, sustainability, and impact.
Lead fundraising, grant management, and resource mobilization efforts.
Provide guidance and support to the board of trustees and senior management team on legal and operational matters.
Requirements:
A minimum of 10 years of experience managing or advising NGOs or nonprofit organizations in Nigeria.
Proven expertise in organizational management, regulatory compliance, and strategic planning.
Strong knowledge of the legal and regulatory landscape for NGOs in Nigeria.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment and collaborate with diverse teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
A degree in law, business administration, public policy, social sciences, or a related field (though not mandatory).
Completion of the Nigerian Law School (for candidates with a legal background).
Certifications or postgraduate qualifications in NGO management, compliance, or nonprofit governance are advantageous.
Additional Information:
Salary is based on experience and productivity but is negotiable.
