Job Description

Job Title: Business Development Manager
Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Reports To: Mortgage Director

Job Summary:
As a Business Development Manager for Foreign Property Mortgage Financing Brokerage unit, you are responsible for driving growth by identifying and acquiring prospective customers interested in purchasing foreign properties. This role involves managing the entire customer relationship from initial contact through the mortgage application process to successful loan closure. The ideal candidate will have strong networking skills, a deep understanding of international real estate markets, and a proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Customer Acquisition and Business Development:
• Identify and engage potential clients interested in purchasing properties abroad, particularly in high-demand markets.
• Develop and implement strategies to target key demographics, including high-net-worth individuals, expatriates, and investors.
• Build and maintain relationships with real estate agents, developers, and other industry stakeholders to generate leads.
• Attend industry events, conferences, and seminars to expand the company’s network and brand presence.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to create targeted campaigns that resonate with prospective clients.

2. Sales and Revenue Growth:
• Meet and exceed sales targets for mortgage financing by converting leads into successful transactions.
• Develop pricing strategies and negotiate terms with clients to maximize profitability.
• Track and report on sales performance, providing forecasts and identifying areas for improvement.

3. Client Relationship Management:
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the mortgage process, providing personalized service and support.
• Conduct in-depth consultations to understand clients’ needs, financial situations, and objectives.
• Guide clients through the mortgage application process, ensuring they understand all aspects, including legal and financial obligations.
• Coordinate with internal and external partners, such as lenders, underwriters, and legal teams, to facilitate a smooth transaction.
• Monitor the progress of applications, providing regular updates to clients and addressing any concerns promptly.

4. Market Research and Analysis:
• Stay informed about global real estate markets, trends in foreign property investment, and changes in international mortgage regulations.
• Analyze competitors’ offerings and identify opportunities to differentiate the company’s services.
• Provide insights and recommendations to management based on market research to improve products and services.

• Maintain accurate records of client interactions and transactions, ensuring data security and confidentiality.

Qualifications:
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Real Estate, Economics or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.

Experience:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, sales & marketing, or a similar role within the banking, Telco, real estate or mortgage financing industry.
• Proven track record of acquiring high-net-worth clients and managing complex transactions.
• Experience with international property markets and foreign mortgage financing is highly desirable.

Skills:
• Strong understanding of global real estate markets and foreign property investment trends.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse clients.
• High level of financial literacy, with a solid understanding of mortgage products, terms, and regulations.
• Strong negotiation and sales skills, with the ability to close deals and meet sales targets.
• Proficiency in CRM software and other sales tools.
