Position: IT Field Engineer
Industry: Retail (Modern Supermart)
Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Job Description (Summary)
As the IT Field Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and supporting the technology systems and equipment across retail stores. Your role will involve routine maintenance, addressing technical issues, and ensuring that all systems operate effectively to support the retail operations.

On-Site Maintenance:
• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of technology systems and equipment within retail stores to ensure optimal performance.
Technical Support:
• Respond promptly to service requests, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and resolve technical challenges to minimize operational downtime.
Repair and Replacement:
• Perform repairs or coordinate the replacement of faulty equipment, such as POS systems, scanners, printers, and other retail technology devices.
Documentation:
• Maintain accurate records of service activities, including maintenance schedules, repair logs, and equipment inventory, to ensure compliance and track system performance.
Training and Support:
• Provide training to store staff on the proper use and maintenance of technology systems to enhance operational efficiency and reduce the occurrence of technical issues.
Compliance:
• Ensure that all maintenance and repair activities comply with safety regulations and industry standards to maintain a safe working environment for employees and customers.
Continuous Improvement:
• Identify and suggest opportunities for system optimization and process improvements to enhance the reliability and efficiency of technology systems.


Required Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in IT field services, especially in End User Computing.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues, including POS systems and related retail technology.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Certifications such as MCSE, A+, or CCNA are an added advantage.
