Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Technical Sales Engineer with a strong background in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Electronics Engineering to join our dynamic sales team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in driving sales by providing technical solutions and support to customers, ensuring that our products meet their needs. This role combines technical expertise with sales proficiency to develop long-term relationships with clients, identify opportunities, and offer technical insights that contribute to successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development:
Identify, pursue, and develop new business opportunities and clients in targeted industries (e.g., Oil and Gas, Maritime, Manufacturing, Energy, Telecommunications, etc.).
Provide technical presentations and demonstrations to prospective customers to explain product features, benefits, and solutions.
Work closely with customers to understand their technical requirements and tailor solutions accordingly.
Prepare and deliver technical proposals, quotations, and contracts in coordination with the sales and engineering teams.
Technical Expertise & Support:
Act as a technical expert on product specifications, applications, and industry standards to support the sales process.
Provide presales and post sales technical support to customers.
Assist customers with product selection, installation, troubleshooting, and optimization of the product.
Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with clients by offering consistent, high-quality technical support and customer service.
Liaise with internal teams (e.g., engineering, product development) to ensure smooth project delivery.
Manage and respond to customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints promptly and effectively.
Market Research & Analysis:
Conduct market research to identify potential clients, emerging trends, and competitors in the technical product space.
Stay updated on new developments in electrical engineering, industry regulations, and market demands to provide relevant and innovative solutions to clients.
Prepare regular reports and forecasts on sales performance and market conditions to inform business strategy.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
2+ years of experience in technical sales or a customer facing technical support role within the electrical, electronics, or engineering industries.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of electrical and electronics products, systems, and industry standards.
Familiarity with product specifications, system integration and requirements, and technical applications in various industries.
Proficient in the use of CAD software and other technical tools for product demonstrations and client presentations.
Sales Skills:
Strong sales acumen with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to nontechnical stakeholders.
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Strong negotiation and relationship building skills.
Other Skills:
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
Ability to work within a team to manage multiple client accounts and projects.
Willingness to travel for client meetings, presentations, and industry events (as needed).
