Job Description
The Production Pharmacist will oversee and manage the pharmaceutical production processes to ensure the efficient, safe, and compliant manufacturing of pharmaceutical products. This role includes supervising production staff, ensuring adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and coordinating with other departments to ensure product quality and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily production activities, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and regulatory requirements.
• Implement and monitor quality control measures to ensure that products meet required specifications and are safe for distribution.
• Ensure that all production activities comply with local and international regulations, including GMP, FDA, and other relevant guidelines.
• Work closely with quality assurance, quality control, and other departments to resolve production issues and improve processes.
• Train production staff on best practices, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements to enhance team performance and compliance.
• Maintain accurate records of production processes, batch records, and deviations, ensuring all documentation is complete and compliant.
• Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and efficiency improvements in production operations.
• Monitor and manage inventory levels of raw materials and finished products to ensure uninterrupted production.
• Promote a safe working environment by adhering to safety protocols and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
• Prepare reports on production metrics, quality issues, and regulatory compliance for management review.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (PharmD preferred) or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in pharmaceutical production or a related field, with supervisory experience preferred.
• Valid pharmacist license in Nigeria.
• Strong understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, quality control, and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills; proficiency in production management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy materials, and perform tasks in a manufacturing environment.
