Job Description

Job Summary:
The Account Officer will be responsible for overseeing the financial transactions, ensuring accurate financial records, and assisting with budgeting, reporting, and financial analysis. This role involves working closely with the finance team to maintain the integrity of financial data, process payments, and support day-to-day financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:
Accounting and Bookkeeping:

Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
Process invoices and prepare payments to vendors and suppliers in a timely manner.
Reconcile bank statements, accounts, and assist with month-end/year-end closing.
Monitor daily cash flow, process cash receipts, and disbursements.

Financial Reporting:
Assist in the preparation of financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Help prepare financial statements and reports for management, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts.

Tax and Compliance:
Assist in the preparation of tax filings, including VAT, sales tax, and other relevant tax returns.
Ensure compliance with all local accounting standards, tax laws, and company policies.
Collaborate with external auditors during audits and provide necessary documentation.

Accounts Payable and Receivable:
Process and manage payments for services, products, and other expenses.
Coordinate with internal teams and vendors to resolve discrepancies in accounts.
Follow up on overdue payments and manage collections effectively.

Data Management and Analysis:
Maintain accurate and organized financial data within the accounting system.
Analyze financial trends and performance to support decision-making and reporting.
Assist in managing financial data for audits, compliance reviews, and internal controls.

Other Responsibilities:
Provide support to the finance team in ad-hoc accounting tasks and projects.
Assist in improving accounting processes and automation.
Ensure confidentiality and security of financial data.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

Experience:
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a similar role.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, SAP).
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
