Job Description
Department: Interior Design and Construction
Location: Lekki Lagos
Reports To: Chief Operating Manager
Job Summary
The Design Architect will play a key role in conceptualizing, planning, and executing innovative architectural and interior design projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of design principles, construction techniques, and industry trends, ensuring that all projects align with the company’s standards of excellence and creativity.
Key Responsibilities
Design Conceptualization:
Develop creative design concepts for architectural and interior projects based on client requirements and preferences.
Create mood boards, sketches, and 3D renderings to communicate design ideas effectively.
Project Planning & Execution:
Prepare architectural drawings, layouts, and construction documentation.
Oversee project timelines, budgets, and milestones to ensure successful project delivery.
Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and other professionals to ensure designs are executed accurately.
Client Engagement:
Meet with clients to discuss project objectives, design preferences, and functional requirements.
Present design proposals and revisions, incorporating client feedback.
Technical Expertise:
Conduct site surveys and analyze spaces to determine feasibility and design solutions.
Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and sustainability practices.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with the interior design and construction teams to integrate architectural designs seamlessly.
Provide guidance to junior designers and interns on technical and creative aspects of projects.
Research & Innovation:
Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and technologies to enhance design solutions.
Explore sustainable and innovative approaches to architecture and interior design.
Qualifications & Skills
Educational Background: A degree in Architecture or related fields (Interior Architecture, Urban Design, etc.).
Experience:
Minimum of 2-5 years of professional experience as a Design Architect.
Experience in interior design projects is a plus.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Lumion, and Photoshop.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and detailing.
Soft Skills:
Excellent design and visualization skills.
Strong communication and presentation abilities.
Effective problem-solving and project management skills.
Portfolio: A comprehensive portfolio showcasing a range of architectural and interior design projects.
