Job Description
Icon Geo is seeking a highly versatile ICT Staff member with 3–5 years of experience in networking, software, troubleshooting, and cloud management. The ideal candidate should have a broad technical skill set and be able to support GIS-related infrastructure, cybersecurity, and automation workflows. Experience with GIS platforms and coding is a plus but not mandatory.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Network and System Management:
Maintain and troubleshoot company networks (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN).
Configure and support cloud-based IT infrastructure (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
Oversee database management (SQL, PostgreSQL) and ensure efficient data storage.
Ensure uptime, security, and performance of IT systems.
2. Software & IT Support:
Install, update, and manage enterprise software, including GIS applications.
Provide end-user support to employees and government agencies during GIS onboarding.
Support GIS software like ArcGIS, QGIS, or Aumentum (preferred but not mandatory).
Ensure compliance with data protection and IT security standards.
3. Cybersecurity & Data Protection:
Implement and maintain cybersecurity best practices.
Monitor network security and protect against threats using firewalls (Fortinet, Cisco, Palo Alto).
Ensure compliance with government IT policies and data encryption standards.
Assist with penetration testing and vulnerability assessments.
4. Automation & Workflow Optimization:
Develop and manage scripts for automation (Python, PowerShell, or Bash).
Support API integrations for GIS, government databases, and enterprise systems.
Utilize low-code development tools (Power Automate, Microsoft Power Apps) for workflow automation.
5. IT Support for GIS Training & Government Agencies:
Assist in GIS training sessions for government staff and internal teams.
Provide technical support for eGIS, Change Detection Dashboards, and Flood Warning Systems.
Document IT procedures and create user guides for GIS-related software.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience: 3–5 years in IT support, networking, or system administration.
Technical Skills:
Networking (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, cloud networking).
Cloud-based infrastructure (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud).
Database management (SQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB).
IT security and firewall management.
Basic troubleshooting of hardware, software, and networks.
Preferred (Bonus Skills):
Experience with GIS platforms (ArcGIS, QGIS, Aumentum).
Basic coding/scripting (Python, JavaScript, PowerShell).
Understanding of API integration and automation tools.
Knowledge of penetration testing and cybersecurity assessments.
Previous experience supporting government technology initiatives.
