Job Description
The Head of IT Infrastructure Management is responsible for overseeing the bank’s IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and efficiency of all technology systems. This role ensures the smooth operation of hardware, networks, servers, and cloud services while supporting the bank’s digital transformation goals and regulatory compliance.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Develop and implement strategies for managing the bank’s IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and cloud services.
2. Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of IT systems to support business operations.
3. Oversee data center operations, including backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
4. Monitor and optimize IT system performance, identifying areas for improvement.
5. Ensure compliance with cybersecurity and data protection regulations.
6. Manage vendor relationships and procurement for IT infrastructure components.
7. Lead a team of IT infrastructure specialists, ensuring skill development and operational efficiency.
8. Collaborate with other IT units to support digital banking initiatives and business process automation.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
i. System uptime and reliability of IT infrastructure.
ii. Reduction in downtime and IT-related service disruptions.
iii. Compliance with security and regulatory standards.
iv. Efficiency of IT infrastructure operations and cost management.
v. User satisfaction and support response time.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Membership in relevant professional bodies such as the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) is an advantage.
• Certifications in IT infrastructure management (e.g., Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, ITIL, COBIT) are preferred.
Experience: 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure management, network administration, or systems engineering, preferably in the financial sector.
KNOWLEDGE
• Strong knowledge of network architecture, cloud computing, and IT security.
• Proficiency in managing enterprise IT infrastructure, including servers, firewalls, and virtualization.
Experience with IT service management frameworks (ITIL) and best practices.
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent leadership and project management abilities
