Job Description
• Develops and maintains Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), and Distributed Control Systems (DCS) for brewing operations.
• Ensures smooth operation of automated brewing, fermentation, filtration, and packaging systems.
• Monitors and adjusts process parameters such as temperature, pressure, and flow rates.
2. Equipment Maintenance & Troubleshooting
• Diagnoses and resolves issues in automation systems to minimize downtime.
• Conducts preventive maintenance on electrical and mechanical control systems.
• Works with bottling and packaging machinery, conveyor belts, labeling systems, and inspection machines (e.g., Empty Bottle Inspection (EBI) Machines).
3. Software & Programming
• Develops and optimizes software for automation controllers (PLCs, HMIs).
• Writes and updates scripts/codes for process control and data logging.
• Integrates automation systems with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
4. Quality & Process Optimization
• Ensures consistent beer quality by monitoring automated brewing parameters.
• Implements data analytics to optimize efficiency and reduce waste.
• Ensures compliance with brewing standards (ISO, HACCP, GMP).
5. Safety & Compliance
• Ensures automation systems meet safety standards (e.g., OSHA, FDA).
• Implements emergency stop functions and failsafe mechanisms.
• Trains brewery staff on safe operation of automated equipment.
6. Collaboration & Reporting
• Works closely with brewers, electrical engineers, and maintenance teams.
• Generates reports on system performance, downtime, and maintenance.
• Assists in the installation and commissioning of new automation systems.
