Warehouse picker

Job Summary:
The Warehouse Picker is responsible for accurately and efficiently selecting and retrieving items from warehouse storage locations based on order specifications. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment, contributing to overall customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

Order Fulfillment:
Accurately pick items from designated warehouse locations according to pick lists, order sheets, or RF scanners.
Ensure picked items match order details in terms of quantity, quality, and product specifications.
Pack and prepare picked items for shipment, following established procedures.

Inventory Management:
Maintain accurate inventory counts and report discrepancies to supervisors.
Assist in cycle counts and physical inventory checks.
Properly store and organize picked items to prevent damage and ensure efficient retrieval.

Warehouse Operations:
Operate warehouse equipment, such as pallet jacks, forklifts (if certified), and hand trucks, safely and efficiently.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
Assist with receiving and stocking incoming shipments as needed.
Participate in team meetings and training sessions.

Quality Control:
Inspect picked items for damage or defects and report any issues to supervisors.
Ensure proper labeling and packaging of picked items.

Qualifications:

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
Previous warehouse experience preferred, but not always required.
Experience with RF scanners or warehouse management systems is a plus.

Skills:
Ability to read and understand pick lists, order sheets, and labels.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication and organizational skills.
Ability to lift and move heavy objects .
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Basic Math skills.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work in varying warehouse temperatures.
