Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Planning:
Develop detailed designs and plans for infrastructure projects such as highways, bridges, water systems, and drainage.
Use computer-aided design (CAD) software and other engineering tools to create blueprints and simulations.
Conduct site surveys and analyze survey reports to assess project requirements.
Project Management:
Oversee construction projects from start to finish, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Collaborate with contractors, architects, and other engineers to ensure successful project execution.
Monitor construction progress and adjust plans as necessary to address unforeseen challenges.
Prepare and submit regular progress reports to senior management.
Compliance & Safety:
Ensure that all designs and construction practices comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with building codes and safety standards.
Implement risk management strategies to minimize potential hazards and ensure worker safety.
Problem Solving & Analysis:
Troubleshoot issues related to construction and design during the planning and execution phases.
Provide technical solutions and innovative approaches to optimize project efficiency and effectiveness.
Coordination & Communication:
Coordinate with external stakeholders, including government agencies, clients, and suppliers.
Prepare detailed reports and documentation for internal and external distribution.
Liaise with local authorities and other relevant organizations to ensure smooth project approvals and inspections.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
Experience:
Proven experience as a Civil Engineer, with a minimum of [5] years of experience in infrastructure design, construction, and project management.
Experience with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and other design tools.
Familiarity with building codes, environmental regulations, and other relevant standards.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects.
Knowledge of construction materials, soil mechanics, and structural engineering principles.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Certifications:
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
Additional certifications or training in project management (e.g., PMP) or safety (e.g., OSHA) are advantageous.
Working Conditions:
Full-time position with potential overtime based on project deadlines.
Occasional travel to construction sites or client meetings may be required.
Work in both office and field environments.
