Job Description
Stretford Hill Limited is seeking a highly experienced Senior Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Officer to oversee and implement safety policies on our construction projects. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with local and international HSE regulations, conduct risk assessments, and promote a culture of safety within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and programs to ensure a safe working environment.
Conduct risk assessments, hazard identification, and safety audits on construction sites.
Ensure compliance with local, national, and international HSE regulations and industry best practices.
Lead incident investigations, analyze root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
Deliver HSE training programs for employees, contractors, and site personnel.
Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety protocols.
Develop and maintain HSE reports, documentation, and performance metrics.
Liaise with regulatory bodies, government agencies, and auditors regarding HSE matters.
Conduct emergency drills and implement emergency response plans.
Drive continuous improvement in HSE performance across all company projects.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
8-10 years of HSE experience in the construction, civil engineering, or oil & gas industry.
Certification in NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent is required.
Strong knowledge of ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety Management System) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System).
Excellent understanding of HSE laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
Experience conducting incident investigations and risk assessments.
Strong communication and leadership skills to promote a positive safety culture.
Proficiency in HSE software and reporting tools.
Ability to work independently and make strategic safety decisions.
