Job Description

Junior Accountant/Financial Analyst to support the finance team in recording, analyzing, and maintaining financial data. The ideal candidate will assist with budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and compliance to ensure informed decision-making. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop financial expertise in a dynamic business environment.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Record Keeping: Accurately record and maintain financial transactions, including purchases, expenses, sales revenue, invoices, and payments.
Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide insights to support decision-making.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in building financial models to forecast future revenue, expenses, and profitability.
Financial Statements Preparation: Contribute to the preparation of income statements, cash flow statements, and balance sheets.
Account Reconciliation: Ensure bank account balances match records in the accounting software and resolve discrepancies.
Payroll Processing: Assist with processing payroll and verifying employee payments.
Transaction Monitoring: Identify irregularities in financial transactions and report findings.
Tax Compliance: Prepare and submit VAT returns and assist in ensuring regulatory compliance.
Variance Analysis: Compare actual financial results to budgets or forecasts, analyze deviations, and provide explanations.
Stakeholder Reporting: Prepare financial reports and presentations summarizing key metrics and insights for senior management.
Regulatory Compliance: Assist in maintaining compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards.
Required Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
1–5 years of experience in finance, accounting, or a related field (internships included).
Proficiency in financial modelling, data analysis, and accounting principles.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Zoho, QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle).
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of financial regulations, VAT, and tax compliance is a plus.
Additional Qualifications and Skills

Progress towards ICAN, ACCA, CFA, CIMA, or similar certifications.
Experience with financial forecasting and variance analysis.
