Job Description
Responsibilities and Duties:
Cleaning Offices and Workstations:
Dusting and wiping down desks, chairs, tables, filing cabinets, and other furniture.
Emptying trash and recycling bins and ensuring proper disposal.
Vacuuming or sweeping and mopping floors.
Cleaning computer screens, keyboards, and telephones.
Ensuring windowsills and ledges are clean.
Cleaning Restrooms:
Cleaning and sanitizing toilets, sinks, and urinals.
Refilling soap dispensers, paper towel holders, and toilet paper.
Cleaning mirrors and polishing fixtures.
Sweeping and mopping floors with disinfectant.
Emptying trash bins.
Cleaning Common Areas:
Dusting and wiping down surfaces in reception areas, hallways, and meeting rooms.
Vacuuming or sweeping and mopping floors.
Cleaning and polishing glass doors and windows.
Ensuring furniture is arranged neatly.
Maintaining cleanliness of pantries and kitchenettes, including wiping counters, sinks, and microwaves.
Waste Management:
Collecting and disposing of trash and recyclable materials properly.
Ensuring trash bins have liners and are emptied regularly.
Transporting waste to designated disposal areas.
Floor Care:
Vacuuming carpets and rugs.
Sweeping and mopping hard floors.
Waxing and polishing floors as required.
Cleaning up spills promptly and safely.
Stocking Supplies:
Monitoring cleaning and restroom supplies (soap, paper towels, toilet paper, cleaning solutions, etc.).
Informing the supervisor when supplies need to be replenished.
Assisting with the receipt and storage of cleaning supplies.
Equipment Maintenance:
Ensuring cleaning equipment (vacuum cleaners, mops, buckets, etc.) is clean and in good working order.
Reporting any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the supervisor.
Adherence to Safety Procedures:
Using cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and according to instructions.
Wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Reporting any safety hazards or incidents to the supervisor.
Other Duties:
Assisting with setting up or cleaning up after meetings or events as needed.
Performing minor maintenance tasks as requested (e.g., changing light bulbs).
Reporting any maintenance issues or damages to the supervisor.
Qualifications and Skills:
Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
Physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks.
Attention to detail and a thorough approach to cleaning.
Reliability and punctuality.
Basic knowledge of cleaning products and techniques.
Awareness of safety procedures related to cleaning.
Good work ethic and a positive attitude.
